Suicide Awareness

Suicide Awareness

At Transitional Healthcare Consultants, we are dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and equipping our community with tools to prevent suicide. Our Suicide Prevention & Education service offers critical resources, including QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Instructor-led training, designed to empower individuals, businesses, and groups to identify signs of distress and intervene effectively. Our goal is to create a supportive, educated community in the Ozarks, where people feel equipped to recognize and respond to signs of mental health struggles, offering hope and support to those in need.

  • QPR Instructor-Led Training: Question, Persuade, Refer

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training is a nationally recognized, evidence-based course that teaches people how to act as "gatekeepers" for suicide prevention. Similar to CPR for physical health emergencies, QPR training provides individuals with practical tools to recognize early warning signs, confidently engage in difficult conversations, and connect individuals to professional help. Our QPR Instructor-led courses are available to businesses, community groups, and individuals who want to contribute to a safer, more responsive community. By learning how to Question, Persuade, and Refer, participants gain the skills to potentially save lives and foster a compassionate environment.

  • SOS Groups: A Community Support Effort

In addition to our QPR training, Transitional Healthcare Consultants proudly supports SOS (Survivors of Suicide) Groups, an ongoing project for the Ozarks that provides a space of hope and healing for survivors. SOS Groups are often run by individuals who have been personally impacted by suicide and understand the unique needs of those who have experienced loss. These groups offer a safe, non-judgmental space where survivors can share their stories, find comfort, and support one another in their healing journeys.

One of the unique aspects of SOS Groups is that they are held in donated spaces within the community, such as churches, community centers, or local businesses, making them accessible to anyone in need. There is no charge to attend these meetings, and they are open to all survivors looking for connection and support. By creating this free, community-driven resource, we aim to ensure that no one has to go through their journey alone.

  • A Collaborative Approach to Mental Health Awareness

Suicide prevention requires a collaborative approach, and at Transitional Healthcare Consultants, we’re committed to partnering with local businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to make a difference. Through our QPR training and the establishment of SOS Groups, we’re working to create a network of support across the Ozarks. We encourage employers, teachers, parents, and community leaders to get involved, learn the skills necessary to intervene, and contribute to a culture of openness and support around mental health.

  • No-Cost Meetings for Lasting Impact

The heart of our Suicide Prevention & Education service is accessibility. By offering QPR training to businesses and organizations, and maintaining SOS Groups as no-cost meetings, we strive to eliminate barriers to life-saving resources. With free access to SOS meetings and affordable, accessible training for community members, we’re fostering a community that is educated, compassionate, and equipped to offer support.

  • Empowering Individuals, Supporting Community

Our Suicide Prevention & Education service is about more than training; it’s about giving people the confidence and resources they need to make a positive impact in their community. By learning how to recognize warning signs and offer help, individuals become valuable assets in the prevention of suicide, promoting mental health and reducing stigma. Together, we can build a more resilient, caring community where people feel safe to seek help, talk openly, and find the support they need.

  • Committed to Ongoing Support

Our dedication to suicide awareness and prevention goes beyond the initial training. We offer ongoing support and resources to organizations and individuals who have completed QPR Training. Our team is available to answer questions, provide follow-up materials, and offer additional guidance to ensure that the knowledge gained through training remains effective and actionable over time.

Suicide Awareness at Transitional Healthcare Consultants is about more than just training—it’s about creating a caring, informed community that looks out for one another. By participating in our QPR Training, you’re joining a growing network of individuals committed to preventing suicide and supporting mental health.
